OK, enough third person writing!
I started this site on Blogger in 2006. I was in my late 20s, my stepkids were little, we lived in a house that rivaled the one in The Money Pit, and making ends meet was sometimes hard. This blog provided a creative outlet, both for cooking and writing.
Now I’m in my late-30s, my stepkids are in college and high school, we live in a sturdy house, and making ends meet is easier. I like to think I’m savvier too — wishful thinking, perhaps. I *still* need a creative outlet, and I’m fortunate that my day-job(s) help scratch that itch.
In 2013-14, I studied in a formal culinary program. I love eating, and I love thinking and writing about food, so it made sense to me to immerse myself in that world in another way, and to expand my understanding of the culinary world. I hope it makes me a better food writer — I think it has.
Want to say “Hi”? Email me at LauraRebeccasKitchen@gmail.com or tweet at me @LauraKenyon. I am always on the lookout for good recipes, restaurant recommendations, food finds, and food news.
When I cook, and when I eat, I want to make it count. I hope you do, too!
I like your “make it count” statement because it’s not the quantity but the quality.
